Hertz signed a letter of intent with a Chinese company that would
result in Hertz' first entrance into mainland China.
China National Auto Anhua International Trade Co. Ltd., based in
Tianjin, will be the Hertz licensee.
The deal is subject to government approval.
If successful in Tianjin, Hertz expects to start operations in
Beijing, Shanghai, Xiamen and Guangzhou.
Hertz also has a licensee in Hong Kong and locations elsewhere
in Asia, including Japan, South Korea, Singapore and Malaysia.
