David Lim, chief marketing officer of Amtrak, has announced his early retirement, effective May 1.

Lim, who had previously worked as vice president of business development for Stevens Travel Management and as a regional sales director for US Airways, had been brought in by Amtrak as assistant vice president to launch Acela Express in 2000.

He is on the board of Brand USA and is its vice chair of marketing. He plans to seek additional opportunities in travel marketing.
