PHILADELPHIA -- Enterprise Rent-A-Car opened its 200th airport branch here at Philadelphia International Airport as the car rental firm marked its eight consecutive year of double-digit growth in airport car rental business.

Our goal is to extend the same high standard of customer service that were known for in our 6,000 neighborhood locations to the airports near our customers, and in this case, it was Philadelphia International Airport, said Rob Hibbard, vice president of rental development for Enterprise.

While Enterprise is largely known for its neighborhood locations, in recent years it has been aggressively entering the competitive airport market.

Enterprise, on average, opens as many as three airport branches a month, in addition to continuing to open more than one branch every business day in the local, or non-airport, market.

Airport markets account for about 50% of the $18 billion U.S. car rental industry, Enterprise said.

Based in St. Louis, Enterprise- has more than 6,000 offices in the U.S, Canada, the U.K., Ireland and Germany.
