ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- The Association of Corporate Travel Executives re-elected Earl Foster to another two-year term as president. Foster, also the director of global travel management at Joseph Seagram & Sons Inc., ran unopposed.

David Ogilvie, chair of ACTE's nominating committee and vice president at ITT Sheraton, said of Foster: "Through his leadership and vision during his first term of office, ACTE has become a global organization, opening an office in Brussels last year [with] planned expansion into Asia in 1998."

ACTE, based here, also named a slate of officers who will serve a two-year term with Foster. They will assume their posts at the conclusion of the annual ACTE members conference June 3.

ACTE's officers are:

  • Larry Cook, vice president operations and planning. He is senior vice president commercial sales, marketing and client services for Travel and Transport Inc.
  • Daniel Merrill, vice president of finance and treasurer. He is regional director of sales for AmeriSuites.
  • Julie Hylton, vice president of administration and secretary. She is the manager of multinational account development for American Express.
  • Colleen Guhin, vice president of education. She is corporate travel manager for Texas Instruments.
  • David Henderson, vice president, international development. He is account director for American Express Europe.
  • Armand LeCompte will continue as chairman. He is corporate travel manager of Hoescht Celanese Corp.
