PHILADELPHIA -- McGettigan Partners, a project management company for meetings and incentives here, acquired Swampscott, Mass.-based World Class Incentives Inc., a full-service incentive program management firm.

The deal creates a new high-end incentive market company called McGettigan World Class, according to John Pino, president and chief executive officer of McGettigan Partners.

The new company will maintain the original World Class Incentives staff and headquarters, he said. WCI also has branch offices in San Francisco and Colorado Springs, Colo.

"This acquisition continues our basic growth strategies and strengthens our position in the incentives market," Pino said.

"It also leads to greater diversity in customers, industries and geographic regions served by McGettigan."

As part of the deal, WCI becomes part of McGettigan's Eastern Customer Business Unit and will "provide an enhanced presence in key markets in the New England region," according to Christine Duffy, division president of the ECBU.

McGettigan offers advantages in large meetings and events as well as enhanced travel management software that can improve WCI's services, Rick Longley, president and managing director of WCI, said.

McGettigan serves more than 100 clients and generates sales of about $250 million, Pino said.
