Northstar Travel Group, parent of Travel Weekly, has expanded
its meetings portfolio with the acquisition of publications and events from
Schneider Publishing.
Northstar has acquired two publications, SportsTravel and
Association News, and two conference series, the TEAMS Conference + Expo and
Meetings Quest.
In addition, Northstar has bought the rights to the Shamrock
Shootout Golf Classic, the longest-running golf tournament in the hospitality
industry. The tourney recently was named the exclusive golf tournament of the
IMEX America trade show, which will be held Oct. 10-12 in Las Vegas.

Publishing, joins Northstar Travel Group as founder and chairman of the company's
new Sports Division. The division will be a part of Northstar's Meetings Group,
which includes publications Meetings & Conventions, Successful Meetings,
Meeting News and Incentive, plus the group's in-person events.
TEAMS, an event presented in association with SportsTravel, will
be held Oct. 30 -- Nov. 2 in Orlando. Launched in 1998, TEAMS attracts 1,000-plus
attendees, including CEOs, executive directors and event managers from sports
organizations as well as representatives from sports commissions and convention
bureaus, corporate sponsors and event suppliers.
