ROCHESTER, Wis. -- London is the most expensive destination for
business travelers, according to the latest edition of Runzheimer
International's Guide to Daily Travel Prices.
Three meals plus single lodging in a business-class hotel in
London costs $498 per day, according to Runzheimer's research.
Geneva ($410), Moscow ($407); New York ($401); Amsterdam ($393);
San Juan ($388); Tokyo ($374); Boston ($358); Santiago, Chile
($351); and New Delhi, India ($350), round out the pricey top
10.
The top five bargain spots are Johannesburg, South Africa
($140); Adelaide, Australia ($154); Auckland, New Zealand ($154);
Ottawa ($158); and Vancouver ($159).
"The strength of the U.S. dollar against foreign currencies
determines, in part, where it is less or more expensive for the
U.S. businessperson to travel," said Phyllis Schumann, Runzheimer's
senior editor and travel consultant.
"Some traditionally expensive locales, such as Paris, are not in
the top 10 because U.S. dollars buy more in those cities than they
did a year ago."
