Accor CEO Sebastien Bazin plans to depart the company by May 2028.
Bazin announced the decision during the company's annual general meeting Wednesday, adding that the transition could come sooner if a suitable successor is found.

Bazin has served as Accor's chief executive since August 2013. He joined Accor from Colony Capital, where he had served as the real estate and investment firm's managing director for Europe.
His time at Accor's helm has been defined by aggressive brand portfolio expansion. During his tenure, the company has grown from a dozen brands at the end of 2012 to more than 45 brands today.
That growth has been fueled in part by a series of major deals, including Accor's 2016 acquisition of FRHI Hotels & Resorts, which added the Fairmont, Raffles and Swissotel brands, and its 2018 acquisition of Movenpick Hotels & Resorts.
In 2020, Accor formed Ennismore, a standalone lifestyle hotel entity built around several brands, including Mama Shelter, 25hours, Delano, Mondrian and SLS.
