Airbnb has tapped Andrea D'Amico to lead its hotel business. He will join Airbnb as the company's vice president for hotels on June 8.

Andrea D'Amico
A 25-year travel and hospitality industry veteran, D'Amico spent 18 years at Booking.com, where he rose from area manager in Italy to the group's vice president and managing director for EMEA, overseeing 1,500 employees across 90 offices.
Also during his tenure, D'Amico moved to Singapore to scale Booking.com's Asia Pacific operations, opening 20 offices and onboarding more than 30,000 hotel partners in three years.
Most recently, D'Amico served as CEO of WeRoad, an adventure travel company.
Airbnb's hotels division had been led by Jesse Stein, who was named head of hotels in January in addition to his duties as Airbnb's global head of real estate. Stein will retain that position while ceding hotel duties to D'Amico.
Airbnb calls hotels one of the fastest-growing segments of its business. Last week, the company unveiled plans to bring thousands of boutique and independent hotels onto its platform across 20 destinations.
