Auberge Resorts Collection is taking over management of downtown San Francisco's landmark Hearst Building, unveiling plans to open the Hearst Hotel, Auberge Resorts Collection in 2023.
Currently under redevelopment, the Hearst Building was built in 1911 and served as home to the San Francisco Examiner until the 1960s.

The 13-story property, located at the corner of Market Street and Third Street, will be reborn as a 150-room hotel, housing amenities like a spa, a restaurant and rooftop bar and various social spaces.
According to Auberge, the Hearst Hotel is part of the company's "ongoing strategic expansion into city centers."
The luxury hospitality group most recently debuted the Commodore Perry Estate, Auberge Resorts Collection in Austin, Texas, and Mauna Lani, Auberge Resorts Collection in Hawaii. The company also plans to open a total of six new hotels this year, including properties in Santa Fe, N.M.; Los Olivos and Napa Valley, Calif.; Riviera Maya and Punta de Mita, Mexico; and Costa Rica.
