The Luxury Bahia Principe Cayo Levantado, previously an adults-only resort in the Samana region on the northern coast of the Dominican Republic, will welcome families with young travelers as of May 1.
The 268-room resort is the only hotel on the island of Cayo Levantado, reached by ferry from a private Bahia Principe dock in Samana.
Facilities include multiple pools, two private beaches, a spa, six restaurants and four bars.
The Bahia Scouts kids program on the island has daily activities, arts and crafts and sports games.
"Although the hotel will retain its tranquil spirit, we removed the adults-only restriction based on feedback from our past guests who are eager to enjoy the resort with their families and from our travel partners who help coordinate and book stays," said Helen Montijano, vice president of sales and marketing for the U.S. and Canada.
Bahia Principle Hotels & Resorts has three additional properties on the Samana mainland, including the 149-room Luxury Bahia Principe Samana, the 295-room Grand Bahia Principe Cayacoa and the 606-room Grand Bahia Principe El Portillo.
