Belmond exploring strategic options, including sale

Ultra-luxury hospitality company Belmond is exploring a "full range of strategic, operational and financial alternatives," including a possible sale.

Belmond reported a $1.5 million net loss in the second quarter, and it has lost $16.5 million for the first half of 2018. The company lost $45.1 million last year.

Belmond's portfolio has 46 hotels, restaurants, trains and river cruises. Its hotels include the Belmond Hotel Cipriani in Venice; Belmond Hotel Splendido in Portofino, Italy; Belmond Copacabana Palace in Rio de Janeiro; Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons in Oxford, England; Belmond Grand Hotel Europe in St. Petersburg, Russia; and Belmond El Encanto in Santa Barbara, Calif.
