Calif. hotels, golf clubs join to create plans

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. -- Several golf clubs teamed with resorts in Orange County to offer multiday vacation packages that include golfing at some of the area's prime courses.

Orange County: California's Golf Coast, a 3-year-old organization of golf clubs, courses and resorts, created Golf Coast Vacations to market the packages.

The group's goal is to increase awareness of Orange County's golf courses and luxury hotels.

Member hotels include the Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel; Four Seasons Hotel, Newport Beach; Hyatt Regency, Irvine; Sutton Place Hotel, Newport Beach; Marriott's Newport Coast Villas, Newport Beach; Hilton Hotel, Costa Mesa; Doubletree Hotel, Irvine; Marriott Laguna Cliffs, Laguna Beach, and Disney's Grand Californian, Anaheim.

Golf courses and clubs include Talega Golf Club, Pelican Hill, Coyote Hills, Tustin Ranch, Strawberry Farms, Oak Creek, Monarch Beach and Tijeras Creek.

Golf packages include golf, hotel, air and car rental.
