Cambria's first hotel in
Chicago, and the brand's first property conversion, has opened.
The former MileNorth Hotel is
now the Cambria Chicago Magnificent Mile, located in the city's Streeterville
district, about a half-block east of Michigan Avenue and about seven blocks
north of the Chicago River.
The 29-story hotel has 215 guestrooms
and a rooftop lounge.
Cambria parent Choice Hotels said
two years ago that it would invest as much as $400 million to help owners speed
up development of Cambria hotels in major U.S. cities. Its first hotel in New
York opened in 2015, and a second in the city opened in early 2016. A second
Chicago hotel under the Cambria brand is slated to open above the Ford Center
for the Performing Arts Oriental Theatre next year.
Choice opened its first
Cambria in 2007. The midscale brand currently has 26 hotels.
