Candlewood Suites, an extended-stay brand owned by Candlewood Hotel
Co., will make its first appearance outside the U.S., expanding to
Berlin in 2000.
Candlewood's franchisee will be Midlantic Hotels, an
Ireland-based company that will have rights to develop properties
in Germany and Switzerland.
Midlantic plans to build six properties in the next five to six
years in the two countries.
