Choice Hotels International is letting guests post online reviews.

The company’s Verified Reviews section on its website allows guests who enter their booking confirmation number to write reviews and rate hotels from one to five stars.

Reviews and responses to reviews will be moderated by a third-party company, Bazaarvoice, which will check for appropriate language.

Choice Hotels franchises more than 6,300 hotels totaling more than 500,000 rooms.

Also, the company on Tuesday released fourth-quarter financial results that showed flattening demand growth for rooms in the midscale sector.

Choice Hotels’ revenue per available room (RevPAR) increased 1.3% from a year earlier, down from the 3.6% increase for the first nine months of 2013.

While the Sleep Inn and Quality Inn brands had RevPAR increases of 4.1% and 3%, respectively, Comfort Inn had a 1.5% increase and Clarion was little changed.

Choice Hotels still reported a 12% jump in net income to $27.3 million, as the company cut selling and administration costs and interest expenses.

Revenue rose 1.3%, to $180.7 million.
