Club Med has named Carolyne Doyon president and CEO for North America and the Caribbean, succeeding Xavier Mufraggi.

Mufraggi, who had held his previous post for more than a decade, has been appointed CEO of Club Med's Europe, Africa and Middle East division. He will report to Club Med president Henri Giscard D'Estaing in his new role.

As North American and the Caribbean CEO, Doyon will oversee more than 3,000 employees and lead the sales, operations and development activities for four regional offices and nine resorts. She will report directly to Club Med deputy CEO Michel Wolfovski.

Doyon joined Club Med as a sales director in 2008 and was appointed vice president of sales, transportation and marketing that same year. Most recently, Doyon served as the group's senior vice president for Canada and Mexico.

Doyon's appointment comes as Club Med plans to grow its North American capacity by 30% by 2021. Resorts under development include the Club Med Miches Playa Esmeralda in the Dominican Republic and the Club Med Quebec Charlevoix (its first resort in Canada).
