Forbes Travel Guide on Wednesday said all 10 Peninsula hotels
have won its coveted Five-Star ranking, making Peninsula the first brand in the
guide's 61-year history to achieve the top rating for all properties.
Forbes Travel Guide CEO Filip Boyen said the top award is
given only to properties that meet more than 500 service and physical criteria
during anonymous inspections, showing "an impeccable standard of
excellence in hospitality."
"The Peninsula Hotels stood out from what can only be
described as an incredible list of prestigious properties this year," he
said. "It's a remarkable feat --
the epitome of luxury service."
The brandwide recognition is the "culmination of an
immense amount of hard work from colleagues across our ten hotels," said Peter
Borer, COO of Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels Ltd., owner and operator of Peninsula
dedicate themselves to providing our guests with the best possible standards of
luxury service, and to be bestowed with such an exclusive award is testament to
this," Borer said.
To recognize employees' hard work, he said, Peninsula will
give teams at each hotel a range of rewards, including complimentary massages,
afternoon tea experiences and special menus.
For guests, Peninsula will celebrate between Feb. 27 and May
31 by offering flexible check-in and checkout, an upgrade to the next available
room category when available, and a dining or spa credit when they book direct.
