Hard Rock International announced plans to open
its second property in the Dominican Republic.
The 400-room Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Santo
Domingo will open in the capital city in late 2017 in collaboration with the
All Inclusive Collection, which spearheads sales and marketing for a number of
luxury resorts in Mexico and the Caribbean.
However, unlike other collaborations with the All
Inclusive Collection, the Hard Rock Santo Domingo will not be an all-inclusive hotel.
Hard Rock International opened its all-inclusive,
1,775-room Punta Cana resort and casino in 2010, following a rebranding of the
former Moon Palace.
“The Dominican Republic is the region’s most
visited country and and received 19% of the 26.3 million visitors to the
Caribbean in 2014,” said Nelson Parker, vice president of casino development. “The decision to bring a full-service hotel and
the brand’s second Caribbean casino to the Dominican Republic is a testament to
the country’s strength in tourism.”
Located in the heart of Santo Domingo, the new
property will feature a 23,000-square-foot casino with two bars, including Hard
Rock’s signature Center Bar, a race and sports book, 400 slot machines and 40
Other facilities will include a Rock Star suite, a
Rock Royalty Level floor, Body Rock gym, lobby bar, cigar lounge, nightclub,
pool and several restaurants and bars.
Hands-on music experiences, jam sessions, in-room
delivery of DJ equipment and a playlist download upon check-in will be
available to all guests.
