G6 Hospitality, operator of economy lodging brands Motel 6 and Studio 6, is expanding into Mexico.

Hotels in the country will be branded Hotel 6 and Estudio 6.

The company signed a deal with Mexico developer Latina Promohotele, which plans to build up to 55 Hotel 6 and Estudio 6 properties by the end of 2020.

The first location is expected to open in late 2015 in Salamanca in the state of Guanajuato in central Mexico, 185 miles northwest of Mexico City.

Each new property will showcase elements of the Phoenix room design featured at Motel 6 and Studio 6 properties, including wood-effect flooring, platform beds, flat-screen TVs and a multimedia panel to plug in MP3 players and laptops.

In 2014, G6 Hospitality said it opened 110 Motel 6 or Studio 6 locations in the U.S. and Canada.
