Ground has been broken on the Hyatt House San Juan, the first Hyatt House hotel in the Caribbean.
The 126-suite extended-stay property is part of a 113-acre master-planned project in the Isla Grande section of San Juan, near the Puerto Rico Convention Center.
Opening is slated for fall 2014.
Hyatt has two other hotels in the works in Puerto Rico: the Hyatt Place Bayamon & El Tropical Casino (15 miles southwest of San Juan) and the Hyatt Place Manati (40 miles west of San Juan).
Both are expected to open in the first quarter of 2014.
