Hyatt and American Airlines are teaming up to offer expanded partnership benefits across their World of Hyatt and AAdvantage loyalty programs.

Under the new collaboration, World of Hyatt members at the Discoverist, Explorist and Globalist levels will be able to earn one World of Hyatt bonus point for every eligible dollar spent on qualifying American flights, while AAdvantage Gold, Platinum, Platinum Pro, Executive Platinum and ConciergeKey members will be granted one AAdvantage bonus mile for every eligible dollar spent at qualifying Hyatt properties.

Additionally, elite members of either the World of Hyatt or AAdvantage platforms will have access to elite-tier benefits across both programs for a limited time. For example, elite World of Hyatt members will have access to AAdvantage elite status benefits like priority boarding and free checked bags, while elite AAdvantage members will have access to World of Hyatt elite status benefits like late check-out upon request, room upgrades and complimentary premium internet.

"This is really a win for elite members in both loyalty programs," said World of Hyatt senior vice president Amy Weinberg. "Status, and the ability to earn it, is something that we know really matters to our members."

The new benefits build on an existing loyalty program partnership between Hyatt and American Airlines, which allows World of Hyatt members to convert points into airline miles, among other perks.
