Hyatt Hotels Corp. this summer will reflag two Avia hotels — one in California and another in Georgia — under its Andaz badge, bringing the number of hotels in the boutique brand to eight.
Hyatt will renovate a 141-room Avia hotel in Napa, Calif., prior to reflagging it into Northern California’s first Andaz. The hotel will have a spa, meeting spaces that may accommodate as many as 130 people and a restaurant that focuses on cuisine sourced from the local wine country.
Additionally, Hyatt will upgrade a 151-room Avia in Savannah, Ga. That hotel will have a restaurant, spa and meeting space for as many as 250 people.
Hyatt acquired the Avia properties as part of its $660 million purchase of LodgeWorks last year. The acquisition included hotels under the Avia, Hotel Sierra, Hyatt Place and Hyatt Summerfield Suites brands.
Hyatt is converting the Sierra hotels to Summerfield Suites.
