An InterContinental resort is due to open in Chennai later this year.

The 106-room InterContinental Chennai Mahabalipuram will be a beachfront property located about 20 miles from Chennai International Airport.

The hotel will be the second InterContinental in India; the other is the InterContinental Mumbai Marine Drive.
