Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants will debut operations in Austin, Texas, in early 2015 with the planned opening of the 322-room Hotel Van Zandt.
The 16-story property, located in the Rainey Street Historic District, will have more than 12,000 square feet of meeting space as well as a restaurant.
The hotel will be developed by JMI Realty, which also built Kimpton's Hotel Solamar in San Diego.
Kimpton will enter an Austin hotel market slated to expand substantially during the next few years. In 2015 alone, the city's downtown area will add the 1,015-room JW Marriott Downtown Austin, a 1,000-room Fairmont and the 326-room Westin Austin Downtown.
