La Quinta Holdings CEO Wayne Goldberg has stepped down and was replaced on an interim basis by CFO Keith Cline.

Goldberg, formerly an executive with Red Roof Inn, joined La Quinta Inns & Suites in 2000 and has served as CEO since 2006. La Quinta owner Blackstone Group took the company public in April 2014, raising $650.3 million at the time.
 

La Quinta has approximately 875 hotels in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Honduras. Through the first half of the year, La Qunita’s net income was, $1.48 million, compared with a $345.9 million loss a year earlier, when the company took a $321 million charge on deferred tax liabilities.

La Quinta’s revenue rose 4.6% from a year earlier to $273.9 million, while revenue per available room (RevPAR) was up 5.9%.
