Starwood Hotels & Resorts' new collection of independent four-star hotels, Tribute Portfolio, has its first hotel in Europe, the Great Northern Hotel in London.

The hotel, which was built in 1854 and has been known as the Great Northern Hotel since 2013, plays up its location next to King’s Cross station with a in-room design scheme that recalls luxury railroad sleeper cars. The hotel’s GNH Bar opens directly into King’s Cross station.

The hotel’s 91 guestrooms have high ceilings and twin-sash windows, while the top floor has mansard-style ceilings and wainscot paneling.

Starwood debuted Tribute Portfolio in April when the Royal Palm South Beach Miami joined the collection.
