London's Shangri-La Hotel at the Shard, London, is open, marking the first U.K. hotel under Hong Kong-based Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts.
The Renzo Piano-designed Shard, located in London's Southwick borough just south of the Thames River, is the tallest in Western Europe.
The 202-room hotel occupies the 34th to 52nd floors of the Shard, whose 72nd-floor observation deck opened to the public in February 2012.
Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts has more than 80 hotels worldwide.
