The Main Street Electrical Parade will end its run at Disney World’s Magic Kingdom on Oct. 9.

The nighttime event is coming to the Disneyland park in Southern California early next year for a “limited engagement,” Disney said.

The parade is on its third run at the Magic Kingdom. It ran from 1977 to 1991, then had a second stint from 1999 to 2001. The most recent engagement started in 2010. The original Main Street Electrical Parade debuted in 1972 at Disneyland.

A favorite among Disney guests, the parade features Disney characters, floats covered with approximately half a million LED twinkling lights and its iconic musical theme, “Baroque Hoedown.”

Disney did not say what would replace the Main Street Electrical Parade at Magic Kingdom.
