PRAGUE, Czech
Republic -- The Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group said it will manage a
luxury 98-room hotel under development here in a 14th century
building that was once a monastery.
The hotel, which
will be called the Mandarin Oriental, Prague, has been designed as
an intimate, luxurious hotel featuring a contemporary, yet elegant
interior style, the Hong Kong-based chain said.
The hotel is slated
to open in 2006 and will be located in the citys Mala Strana
district near such popular sites as Prague Castle and the 600-year
old Charles Bridge.
The Mandarin
Oriental Hotel Group, which operates some 7,800 rooms in 14
countries, also plans to open hotels in Thailand (by the end of
this year); Hong Kong, Mexico and Tokyo (2005); and Boston
(2007).
