Me by Melia has cancelled a planned June 14 soft opening of its Miami hotel due to delays in the receipt of its certificate of occupancy.
The upscale 129-room hotel, to be located along Biscayne Boulevard on the northeastern edge of the city's downtown, is instead gearing up for an early July opening, a spokesperson said.
Me Miami will be the first property in the U.S. for the Me by Melia brand of Spain-based Melia Hotels International. Me by Melia also has properties in London, Madrid, Milan, Mallorca and elsewhere.
STK Steakhouse, the hotel’s signature restaurant, is expected to be fully operational by mid-July, according to the spokesperson.
