Outrigger Enterprises Group, whose eponymous beach hotels and vacation rental properties date back to 1947, will delineate about a third of its 42 properties under its new Outrigger Resorts brand.
The company wants to better publicize its expertise at running beachfront resorts.
The Hawaii-based company will place two Hawaii, two Fiji, three Thailand and three Australia resorts under the Outrigger Resorts brand, as well as sites in Mauritius, Guam and China.
“Our goal is to be known as the premier beachfront resort brand in the world,” Outrigger Enterprises Group CEO David Carey said.
Outrigger continues to spend money on improving properties in Hawaii and expanding its brand globally. Last spring, the company said it would spend $100 million renovating and expanding Waikiki’s Outrigger Reef on the Beach, with the improvements slated to be completed by 2019.
The company recently acquired the Maldives’ Konotta Island Resort and said it would reopen the property as the Outrigger Konotta Maldives. Outrigger is also developing properties on Hainan Island, China, and in Vietnam. All four of those properties will be part of Outrigger Resorts.
All properties within the new brand will include a Voyager 47 club lounge, a beachfront bar and a spa.
