The Regent Palms Turks and Caicos has been deflagged, returning
to independent management.
The 72-room beachfront resort is now the Palms Turks and
Caicos, the original name of the property when it was built in 2005. The resort
was flagged under the Regent Hotels luxury brand in 2007.
The 12-acre resort, which received a $3.5 million
renovation, will continue to be led by developer Stan Hartling and its general
manager Karen Whitt. The property, located on Grace Bay Beach, includes a
25,000-square-foot spa.
Regent has six hotels worldwide, with three slated to be
open in China by the end of 2017. The brand, which was founded in 1970, was
sold to Four Seasons in 1992 and to Carlson five years later. It was acquired
by Taiwan-based FIH Regent Group in 2010.
