Preferred Hotels inks deal for keyless room entry

Preferred Hotels & Resorts has reached an agreement with OpenKey to provide keyless entry for its member hotels.

Preferred Hotels members have the option to implement OpenKey's technology, which enables guests to check in with their smartphone and use the device to enter their room.

The app also lets guests text requests to the hotel's front desk and complete consumer-satisfaction surveys. OpenKey's app is available on both the Android and Apple's iOS platform.

Preferred Hotels represents more than 600 hotels in 85 countries, including the Chambers Hotel in New York, the Hotel Mayfair Paris and the Franklin Hotel in London.
