Blackstone has agreed to buy the Windsor Atlantica in Rio de
Janeiro from Brazil-based Windsor Hotels, and the company will reflag the
545-room property as a Hilton.
The hotel, which is located across the street from
Copacabana Beach, will be renamed the Hilton Rio de Janeiro Copacabana.
The property will be the only Hilton in the
Copacabana/Ipanema Beach area. Hilton also has a 298-room property in Rio's
Barra di Tijuca district.
