The Ritz-Carlton Montreal will reopen for business on May 28 after $200 million was spent renovating the 100-year-old property.

The 129-room hotel, located on Sherbrooke Street in Montreal’s Golden Square Mile, had been closed since 2008.

Among the renovations was the restoration of the façade.

The hotel features 10,000 square feet of public meeting space, an indoor saltwater pool and the 4,700-square-foot Royal Suite, said to be Montreal’s largest hotel suite.

The hotel opened in 1912 as North America’s first Ritz-Carlton
