The Sandals Royal Curacao opening date has been postponed to June 1 due to global supply chain disruptions, according to Sandals executive chairman Adam Stewart. The resort had been scheduled to open on April 14.

"While we are delighted that Sandals Curacao is near completion, our suppliers worldwide have faced materials shortages and shipping delays. Obstacles beyond our control are certainly frustrating, but we simply will not settle for anything less than the experience we promised and that our valued travel advisor partners and customers deserve," Stewart said.

"Our guests and partners have our word that they will be protected, and we're confident that our first entry into Curacao will be well worth the brief wait."

Guests impacted by the delay may opt to move their upcoming reservation to another Sandals of their choice, rebook their current Sandals Curacao vacation for a later date or receive a full refund.

Sandals said it will cover all necessary airfare changes up to $600 per person. In addition, all impacted guests will receive a $250 resort credit to use at the Red Lane Spa or for Island Routes Tours plus future stay credits.
Sandals Royal Curacao is the 16th Sandals resort and the first in Curacao.

The resort is located on 44 acres within the Santa Barbara private estate, a 3,000-acre protected preserve.

The Sandals Royal Curacao will have 351 guestrooms and suites in 24 categories, including two new suite categories: the Awa Seaside butler bungalows and Kurason Island poolside butler bungalows, complete with soaking tubs, private pools, butler service and complimentary Mini Coopers for guests to drive while exploring Curacao.
