The TWA Hotel at New York's Kennedy Airport will begin
taking reservations on Feb. 14.
Bookings will be accepted for stays beginning on May 15,
with reservations available solely via the hotel's website.
Daytime-only reservations also will be available this
spring, offering travelers a place to shower, rest or work during a layover.
The hotel also suggests travelers head to the hotel after an early morning
arrival instead of getting stuck in rush-hour traffic on the Belt Parkway and
the Van Wyck Expressway.
The highly anticipated TWA Hotel will house 512 guestrooms,
each outfitted with midcentury modern decor and soundproof windows to shut out
the jet noise. The property will have 50,000 square feet of event space, a
10,000-square-foot fitness center and a rooftop pool.
In December, the hotel said it would
feature a restaurant from acclaimed chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten.
Called the Paris Cafe, the restaurant will serve breakfast, lunch, dinner,
snacks and cocktails.
Five additional restaurants and eight bars will be on site,
including a cocktail lounge housed in a repurposed Lockheed Constellation
L-1649A aircraft. The hotel will have a coffee bar and coffee carts by
Chicago-based roaster and retailer Intelligentsia.
Room rates at the TWA Hotel start at $249 a night.
