Wyndham Hotel Group plans to add to its stable of midscale brands with the acquisition of AmercInn from Northcott Hospitality.

The $170 million acquisition includes AmercInn's management company, Three Rivers Hospitality and 10 owned hotels, real estate that Wyndham Hotel Group plans to sell.

AmericInn has about 200 hotels in 21 states, predominately in the Midwestern U.S., Ohio Valley, and Mountain states. Most of the hotels are franchised properties. The brand has 23 hotels in development.

The deal is subject to regulatory approval. When the deal is done, Wyndham Hotel Group will have 20 brands. Wyndham is already well-represented in the upper-midscale and midscale segments with Baymont, Hawthorn Suites, Tryp, Ramada and Wyndham Garden.
