Groupon this week placed automated kiosks in locations around Chicago, where consumers can purchase Groupon deals.
According to SmartDigital, which has provided and set up 30 kiosks, this is the first time Groupon deals have been available on outdoor kiosks.
The kiosks have deals that are "geo-targeted", and include Getaways, Groupon's travel deals.
SmartDigital said that 100 kiosks would be set up within the next 90 days, and that the campaign would expand to other major metropolitan markets around the country later this year.
In Chicago, kiosks will be in locations like Chicago's Navy Pier and Water Tower Place, areas popular with tourists.
SmartDigital said that consumers have the option to purchase the deals directly from the machines with a credit card or by using their existing Groupon account.
Consumers can also send the deal information to themselves via Facebook or email.
