U.S. tour operator Collette has opened an office in Sydney,as part of a larger effort to capture Australia’s outbound travel market.

The Sydney office will be Collette’s fourth worldwide, including the company’s headquarters in Pawtucket, R.I. Some 25 years ago, Collette opened offices in Toronto and London.

The Sydney office will target both consumers and travel agents with a focus on tours to the United States and Europe, among other destinations.

Collette has appointed a vice president of service and international business, Christian Leibl-Cote, to manage growth in the region.

“We’re excited to enter into a booming travel market with dedicated travel agents and partners,” Dan Sullivan Jr., Collette’s president and CEO, said in a statement.

Outbound Australia tours are on sale and will begin departing from the Australia region on May 1.
