Contiki, the tour operator designed for young adults, is expanding its Asia portfolio with the debut of a new travel style featuring ride-based itineraries.
The TTC Tours brand will add two small-group journeys: Ride Vietnam and Ride Cambodia. Both itineraries will trade traditional coach bus tours for seeing Southeast Asia on Vespas, motorbikes and tuk-tuks with expert local drivers.
The trips will launch in November.
"Young travelers are moving beyond the Instagram 'greatest hits' and looking for trips that connect and immerse them in destinations," said head of brand Tom O'Hara. "It's about getting closer to the culture, the communities and the moments that make travel unforgettable."
The Cambodia itinerary is eight days, where guests will explore the country entirely by tuk-tuk, a motorized, three-wheeled, open-air vehicle. Their journey will take them down dirt roads and rice fields. Highlights include visiting Siem Reap, watching the sunrise at Angkor Wat, and experiencing homestays at Kampong Khleang on Tonle Sap lake and Sambor Prei Kuk.
The six-day Vietnam trip will be offered via Vespa scooter and motorbike. Travelers will enjoy a Vespa food tour in Hoi An, a motorbike street food tour in Da Nang and a ride across Hai Van Pass.
