Saveur, Butterfield partner to launch foodie-themed tours


Culinary magazine Saveur has partnered with upscale adventure tour operator Butterfield & Robinson to create a portfolio of new tours called Saveur Trips.

The new foodie-themed itineraries begin with a seven-night trip to Peru on Oct. 19. After that, there will be a three-night New Orleans tour on Nov. 12 and a three-night Napa and Sonama trip on Nov. 19.

Saveur Trips will include opportunities to meet and dine with chefs, learn from local cooks and have off-the-beaten path epicurean experiences.

For instance, during the Peru trip, tour participants will spend three days in Lima, which will include visiting local markets, a ceviche demonstration, learning about Peruvian coffee, and will then continue on to Cusco, the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu, with an emphasis on authentic, local cuisine throughout.

The Peru trip is priced at $9,975 per person, based on double occupancy.

Additional international and domestic departures of Saveur Trips for 2016 will be announced later this year.

Butterfield & Robinson is operating the trips with content input and cross-marketing efforts from Saveur.
