Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection is once again enabling travel advisors to sell its travel insurance.
After pivoting away from the trade to focus on developing products and services via strategic partnerships in 2018, BHTP on Oct. 1 made insurance plans available to advisors again.
Advisors can sell BHTP's LuxuryCare, ExactCare and ExactCare Lite policies.
Through BHTP's partner portal, advisors have the ability to modify policies, enabling them to update trip value and travelers. BHTP also offers automatic quote follow-ups via email, helping advisors close sales.
Claims payments are deposited directly into clients' bank accounts.
BHTP president Dean Sivley said the company is excited to re-engage with the trade. He is particularly excited about the technology BHTP has created for advisors and its potential to make their jobs easier.
"We are trying to make them successful and even better at what they do," he said.
Above all, though, he said advisors should find everything in the partner portal easy to use.
"We've always been a digital-first company," Sivley said. "We're going to make it really simple for them to sign up, to get their trainings, to get their licensing and all those things. They'll be able to do it all immediately and really be up and selling exceptionally quick."
He hinted that there is more to come for travel advisors.
"We're going to continue to advance on this side of things, about the travel advisor and making their life better," Sivley said. "There's some really slick, unique, industry-changing stuff that we're going to have within the next couple of months."
