MINNEAPOLIS -- Agency franchiser Carlson Wagonlit Travel struck a
deal with its U.K.-based sister company, the Thomas Cook Group, to
provide currency exchanges at Carlson's 1,200 U.S. locations.
Under the agreement, Carlson associates become the first
agencies to make use of Thomas Cook's service. Carlson agents will
be able to access the service for their clients through the firm's
proprietary Excavia extranet site. Currency is then delivered by
courier mail either to the agency or direct to the customer, based
on the client's preference.
