Carlson Cos. unveils new corporate logo

Carlson Cos. has rolled out a new logo designed to symbolize the firm's focus on "heart, heritage, innovation and service."

"The graphic design of the new logo -- also called a trust mark -- is rich in symbolism," said Kim Olson, Carlson's vice president and chief communications officer in a statement.

The red and gold logo conceptually represents Carlson's employees, as viewed from above, with welcoming arms extended.  Carlson said the design is a reminder that its "businesses involve building better relationships with customers, partners, colleagues and communities."

While also serving as homage to Carlson's "heritage, future, innovation and service," the new logo also contains elements of Carlson's original logo designed in the 1970s and comprised of left and right facing "C"s.

"Our new trust mark serves as a reminder that Carlson is entering a new era," Olsen said. "Our strategy is to operate as a group of independent, but integrated, businesses that contribute to their own success and the success of the entire company."

Carlson Cos. includes Regent Hotels & Resorts, Radisson Hotels & Resorts, Park Plaza Hotels & Resorts, Country Inn & Suites by Carlson, Park Inn Hotels, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, Carlson Wagonlit Travel, among others.
