Expedia has launched an advertising campaign intended to acknowledge the realities of the Covid era.

Running under the tagline "Stop Motion. Start Traveling," the campaign encourages homebound travelers to "feel inspired to get back out there, when they're ready."

Central to the campaign is a 30-second TV spot, which was filmed using stop motion techniques and depicts a couple using objects inside their apartment to explore the world. For example, a coffee table and mugs are used to create an imaginary convertible car, while bedsheets and blankets are refashioned to resemble a mountainside or swimming pool.

At the end of the video, the couple books an actual trip and heads out the door. 

The TV spot is currently live in the U.S., Canada and the U.K., with the campaign also running digitally.
