Giants adds another marketing position

NEW YORK -- The Giants cooperative continues to grow its marketing operations with the addition of Linda Getter, who will assume the newly created post of director of marketing on May 24.

It will be the second marketing position added in two months.

Getter will be responsible for developing and managing all of Giants' marketing materials, including the Hotel Connections Directory, Select Traveler catalog series, supplier promotions and direct-mail pieces for the group's U.S. agency members, who account for 800-plus of Giants' 1,500 members.

Getter's background includes 15 years in marketing and communications with several tour firms, including Lindblad Expeditions, IST Cultural Tours and Micato Safaris. During her stint at 1ST Cultural Tours, she developed Historic Journeys, a series of history-themed tours for the History Channel.

The first new marketing post added this year -- senior director of marketing and development, land products -- was filled by Suzanne Hall on April 14.
