Pro Travel Network, a 3-year-old host
agency based in Fresno, Calif., went public Nov. 27 as a way to
"increase our visibility and boost our credibility," said President
and CEO Paul Henderson.
He said the firm,
which counts approximately 6,000 affiliated home-based agencies, is
looking to make acquisitions, possibly "other agency types," and,
by going public, aims to make it easier to raise funds as needed
for that purpose.
The company had
intended to go public by March or April, but Henderson said the
paperwork took longer than expected, in part because of changing
Securities and Exchange Commission requirements.
Pro Travel will
trade under the symbol PTVL.PK on Pink Sheets, a private company
that operates an over-the counter market handled primarily by
discount brokers.
