Kensington Tours is partnering with a division of Ancestry.com to offer a new line of personalized, private tours based on travelers' family trees, the companies announced today.
The new Personal Heritage Journeys are designed to provide people with in-depth explorations of their roots through itineraries crafted by Kensington's destination experts working in collaboration with a dedicated professional genealogist and family history expert from Ancestry's ProGenealogists progenealogists.comdivision. Travelers can even opt to have the genealogist accompany them on the trip.

The goal, the companies said in a news release, "is to make each person's family story come to life in a unique and powerful way, based on the strengths and values of two exceptional brands."
"We want to connect people to their roots in a profound way," said Helen Giontsis, president of Kensington Tours. "Personal Heritage Journeys let clients bring their family's past to life. Combining the expertise of AncestryProGenealogists and Kensington Tours' Destination Experts and local private guides, as well as unbeatable 24/7 support, clients will be able to vividly explore the world of their ancestors. They'll touch the same stones, walk the same streets, hear their stories and feel their heritage in a meaningful way."

Personal Heritage Journeys can be created for any destination in the world, and starter itineraries have been created for Scotland, Ireland, England, Germany, Poland, Italy, Ghana and Japan, with other destinations, including New York and Quebec, to follow.
To celebrate the launch, Kensington is offering agents a bonus of up to $200 for trips booked before March 31. The bonuses will be paid in Visa gift cards after the initial deposit is made.
